Intel, VLSI summary judgment motions cite 2012 Finjan license

( March 3, 2025, 15:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: In competing, redacted motions for summary judgment, Intel and VLSI zero in on the question of whether Intel obtained a license from Finjan over a decade ago to practice patents later assigned to VLSI, which it now stands accused of infringing. According to Intel, when Fortress Investment Group — which controls VLSI — acquired Finjan in 2020 it also took on Finjan's existing license agreements. Thus, Intel said, jurors at an upcoming trial should be presented with "the straightforward factual question of whether VLSI and the Finjan Parties are under common control."  VLSI countered that because it was not a signatory to the 2012 agreement between Intel and Finjan it cannot now be made to abide by its terms "as a matter of black-letter contract law."See attached documents....
