DOJ asks US judge to block Anthropic intervention in Google search monopoly suit

( February 28, 2025, 23:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice asked a federal court to deny Anthropic’s motion to participate in the government's remedy trial against Google over Internet search monopolization. Anthropic’s de facto motion to intervene is untimely and Google adequately represents its interests, the government said in a filing at the US District Court for the District of Columbia. "Regardless of how it is styled, Anthropic’s proposal seeking to inject evidence into the proceeding goes beyond the scope of amicus participation and amounts to a de facto request for leave to intervene," the DOJ and a Colorado-led group of states said.See attached document...
