UK privacy watchdog reprimands Edinburgh, Glasgow city councils for delays

( February 27, 2025, 14:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK data privacy regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office, issued reprimands today to the city councils of Edinburgh and Glasgow for failing to respond to requests for personal information on time. In hopes of tackling “significant delays for people who are trying to access copies of their personal information held by local authorities across Scotland,” the ICO notified the councils and called for a reduction of their average response time.  Statement follows....
