South Korea's antitrust regulator seeks research on AI partnership loopholes

( February 27, 2025, 05:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea's competition watchdog has opened a bidding process for a study examining how artificial intelligence and emerging tech companies are forming new types of combinations that function like mergers but fall outside traditional regulatory definitions. According to the Korea Fair Trade Commission, the research, running from April to October, will scrutinize various partnership structures, including strategic talent acquisition, to determine how these arrangements might warrant regulatory oversight.
