Chinese die-bonder supplier faces consecutive setbacks in patent feuds with rival

China’s highest court recently ruled in favor of Shenzhen Wanfuda Precision Equipment’s appeals, revoking a lower court’s decisions to award Xinyichang a combined $1.1 million in damages for patent infringement.Shenzhen Xinyichang Technology, a semiconductor packaging-equipment supplier, found its strategy of wielding its patents as a weapon against a rival backfiring  when those patents were invalidated, exposing the vulnerability of its patent portfolio.
