OpenAI's challenge to Indian court's jurisdiction shot down

In the ongoing alleged copyright infringement case filed by news agency Asian News International against OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT, amicus curiae Arul George Scaria affirmed the Delhi High Court's jurisdiction to hear the matter. Scaria also addressed the complex issues of fair use, the distinction between "expressive" and "non-expressive" use of copyrighted material and emphasized the importance of access to diverse data for training large language models.
