Nonprofits, unions sue over DOGE access to IRS data

( February 17, 2025, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Multiple nonprofits and unions led by the Center for Taxpayer Rights filed a lawsuit challenging the US Department of Government Efficiency’s access to Internal Revenue Service data.  They allege DOGE's access to private citizens’ tax information at the IRS violates the Federal Information Security Act, the Privacy Act and the Administrative Procedure Act. The groups also allege DOGE engaged in “ultra vires” actions by “directing and controlling the use and administration of Defendant IRS’ systems.”See attached document....
