82 Chinese apps removed, told to rectify personal information violations

( February 19, 2025, 06:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Four apps related to mobile games, e-sports, online pharmacies and food safety supervision in the catering industry can no longer be downloaded because they failed to disclose personal-data collection rules, a violation of China’s Personal Information Protection Law, according to the national Internet regulator. An additional 78 apps, including those for fitness, online education, sports, and ride-hailing services, also breached the law by not offering personal-data deletion and adjustment functions, the regulator stated.
