Equifax denied motion to dismiss Greystone US monopolization claims

( February 18, 2025, 19:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Equifax's motion to dismiss US monopolization claims by Greystone Mortgage over income and employment information has been denied. Greystone has plausibly alleged antitrust injury, anticompetitive conduct, that Equifax constructed a "moat" around important data with exclusive dealings, that it has charged supracompetitive prices to verifiers and that Equifax exists in a one-sided market, US District Court Judge John Murphy said in his order. "Greystone plausibly alleges that Equifax’s conduct foreclosed at least 40% of the market through multiyear exclusive deals and de facto exclusive deals," the filing to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said.
