Ericsson warns of ‘disastrous consequences’ if Lenovo gets its way in UK

While both sides were peppered with questions at a nearly six-hour hearing, counsel for Ericsson — who predicted “general confusion” and “satellite litigation” if Lenovo’s request is granted — bore the brunt of the court’s skepticism, with one judge asking “can you explain to me why forum shopping by implementers is bad, and forum shopping by SEP owners is good?”Spirited arguments emerged today in a dispute over Lenovo’s entitlement to a short-term, or interim, license on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory (Frand) terms to Ericsson-owned standard essential patents....
