Walmart successfully opposes EU trademark registration

( February 18, 2025, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Walmart's opposition to a trademark application from Turkish food retailer, Palmart, succeeded at the EU Intellectual Property Office. The EUIPO Opposition Division found the signs "WALMART" and "PalMart" to be visually and aurally similar. The opposition was well-founded based on the likelihood of confusion, the Opposition Division found.
