Japan's Chuo Spring, Aichi Machine violated subcontract law, JFTC says

( February 18, 2025, 07:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese spring manufacturer Chuo Spring and Nissan Motor’s subsidiary engine maker, Aichi Machine Industry, received corrective recommendations today for violating the Subcontract Act. The Japan Fair Trade Commission said Aichi Machine and Chuo Spring required the subcontractors to store metal molds used in manufacturing but did not pay any storage fees. Aichi Machine paid 19.2 million yen ($127,000) to five subcontractors, while Chuo Spring paid 5.7 million yen to 24 subcontractors. The molds were either retrieved or discarded. Both companies, based in Nagoya, were told by the JFTC to take preventive measures. The statements, in Japanese, are attached....
