That’s the question before EU judges today as they weigh whether FIFA’s rules could benefit from an antitrust exemption. In a dispute with their national football association, German agents said the rules had a direct impact on their economic activities and shouldn’t benefit from competition-law leeway.Rules by football's world governing body aimed at capping the fees of football agents and curbing conflicts of interest don’t benefit from a possible antitrust exemption and unfairly limit economic freedoms on a separate market, leading agencies in Germany and Austria told the EU’s top judges today....
