EU to present legislation on 2040 climate target in first quarter

( February 12, 2025, 09:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The legislative act for the proposed 90 percent emission-reduction target for 2040 to be enshrined in the European Climate Law is to be unveiled in the first quarter of this year, according to the European Commission's 2025 work program. A draft of the work plan, seen by MLex, showed the proposal was planned for the second quarter, but the final version has brought it forward to the first quarter.  Press release follows.
