Global 'sustainable, inclusive AI' declaration signed by China but not UK or US

( February 11, 2025, 14:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK and US have not signed a declaration on establishing principles for artificial intelligence around "science, solutions — focusing on open AI models in compliance with countries' frameworks — and policy standards, in line with international frameworks." The declaration unveiled at the close of the Paris AI Action Summit today recognizes the need for multi-stakeholder dialogues on AI governance, and it pledges to "deliver" on a Public Interest AI Initiative to make AI tools available to all. Of around 100 countries participating in the summit, 58 signed the declaration, plus the EU and the African Union. Summit organizers also published a document on actions taken.Statement follows.
