Guarnera, Mufarrige tapped to lead US FTC competition, consumer-protection arms

By Mike Swift and Khushita Vasant ( February 10, 2025, 22:35 GMT | Insight) -- Daniel Guarnera and Christopher Mufarrige were named today by US Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson to lead the FTC's Bureau of Competition and Bureau of Consumer Protection, respectively. Ferguson also announced that Lucas Croslow, previously the deputy solicitor general of Virginia, will be the FTC’s next general counsel, while Jake Denton, formerly of the Heritage Foundation, is the new chief technology officer at the FTC. The new chairman of the US Federal Trade Commission has named Daniel Guarnera to lead the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, and Christopher Mufarrige to lead the Bureau of Consumer Protection, in two of the most important appointments he’ll make....
