US FTC, states file amended US antitrust complaint against Deere

( February 7, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Deere & Co. has unfairly driven up equipment repair costs for farmers while also depriving farmers of the ability to make timely repairs on critical farming equipment, according to an amended complaint filed by the US Federal Trade Commission and several states. The complaint alleges Deere has limited the ability of farmers and independent repair providers to repair Deere equipment, forcing farmers to instead rely on Deere’s network of authorized dealers for necessary repairs, boosting its profits on equipment and parts and growing its repair parts business while burdening farmers with higher repair costs. The new complaint adds Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin as state plaintiffs.See attached file. ...
