Job applicants suing Workday over AI tools seek conditional class certification

( February 7, 2025, 00:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Job applicants suing human resource software company Workday alleging the company's artificial intelligence employment tools enable age discrimination are seeking to conditionally certify a class of individuals over age 40 who, from Sept. 24, 2020, through the present, applied for jobs using Workday's application platform and were denied employment recommendations. They were all denied employment because of Workday's algorithmic decision-making tools, they said, and "have made a showing that a group of individuals were victims of a common policy or practice, meeting the lenient standard for maintaining a collective action.
