Axon, Safariland get US antitrust claims trimmed in case over tasers

( January 31, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Axon and Safariland convinced a US federal judge to trim antitrust claims accusing them of illegally monopolizing the market for Tasers and body-worn cameras. District Judge Robert Kirsch dismissed claims based on the long-range conducted energy weapons market. He also dismissed claims of per se violations, saying that no court has found a non-compete provision executed as part of an acquisition to constitute a market allocation agreement or to be per se unlawful. Additionally, claims for injunctive relief were dismissed due to plaintiffs pleading no facts indicating that they have "actual or imminent" plans to purchase Axon f body-worn camera products.
