Meta, plaintiffs oppose state attorneys general request for immediate appeal in social media addiction litigation

( January 28, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms and personal injury and school district/local government entities opposed state attorney general’s request for immediate appeal in a product liability case against Meta. Meta said that the court lacks jurisdiction in light of a pending cross-appeal in the Ninth Circuit. Plaintiffs argued that an immediate appeal on the Section 230 rulings is not the most efficient course of action, given that several motions to dismiss remain pending and discovery is almost complete.
