DeepSeek to face German data protection investigation

Data regulation is handled at the regional level in Germany and the watchdogs are coordinating on next steps. This will follow an information request from Ireland and South Korea as well as a processing block by the Italian regulator. DeepSeek, the Chinese generative AI model rivalling OpenAI’s ChatGPT, will be investigated by German data protection authorities, the current chair of the regional regulators has confirmed to MLex. The authorities are coordinating as to how to proceed as watchdogs around the world begin to take action....
