Chair Ferguson seeks authority from FTC Democrats to eliminate DEI

( January 23, 2025, 01:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson said in posts on X that under his leadership, the agency is doing its part to "end the DEI plague" and that he has asked the FTC to grant him the authority to do everything that must be done to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. "I have further asked the Commission to grant me the authority to do everything that must be done to eliminate DEI at the FTC. We will see whether my Democratic colleagues, who currently have a majority on the Commission, will obey President Trump’s orders," the FTC chair said in two posts on the social media platform.
