Singtel, KKR secure Indian approval for $1.3 billion STT GDC investment with 'safeguards'

The approval comes with several safeguards implemented to address concerns raised by the Competition Commission of India regarding potential anticompetitive behavior. To address the red flags, Singtel and KKR have agreed to implement restrictions on information sharing between STT GDC and data center Nxtra, prohibitions on common directors, limitations on information flow within Singtel, and requirements for recusal from discussions by individuals with potential conflicts of interest.
