UK’s online age-assurance rules kick in, with porn sites first for enforcement

Some porn publishers face enforcement in theory starting from tomorrow, but Ofcom told MLex it will seek to be “reasonable” as services work through its extensive guidance. A six-month countdown is in place for most enforcement.Online services operating in the UK today received final guidance on the controversial question of what can count as “highly effective age assurance,” a requirement for certain services under a national online safety law currently under implementation....
