Post-verdict, LG continues to hammer Intellectual Ventures in US state court

LG prevailed in October 2024 on its claim that despite taking a license to various IV standard-essential patents, or SEPs, in 2019 to settle 4G LTE litigation against LG in Germany, IV sued LG customers Toyota and General Motors for infringement in Texas in a breach that LG says deprived it of the “ability to enjoy the benefits of the bargain.” Now, LG argues it is entitled to pre- and post-judgment interest, along with attorney fees, for IV’s alleged bad faith.Post-trial motions filed under seal and released last week with heavy redactions show discord between licensee LG Electronics and four Intellectual Ventures-linked entities continues to fester....
