InfoCert receives information request from Italian regulator after data breach

( January 7, 2025, 18:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tintexta Group’s InfoCert has been issued a request for information by the Italian data protection authority following its notification of a data breach on Dec. 27. The regulator is concerned that the breach, which affected an external provider’s IT systems, may have exposed the personal data of a “very large number” of individuals. InfoCert, which is a certification authority and digital identity service provider, said in its initial announcement that no access credentials or passwords for its service had been compromised. It has ten days to respond to the information request, which is dated Jan. 3.Statement follows (in Italian)....
