Google avoids sanctions in US privacy lawsuit over Real-Time Bidding

( January 4, 2025, 00:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US magistrate judge denied a request by plaintiffs suing Google for privacy allegations over its Real-Time Bidding ads auction to find Google in contempt of the court and impose sanctions over its failure to comply with discovery orders and spoliation of evidence. The judge found the plaintiffs’ motion untimely and failed to show “clear and convincing evidence” that Google violated a court order. The court is also “not persuaded that plaintiffs have suffered evidentiary prejudice” as a result of Google’s behavior.Filing is attached....
