Law firm granted access to UPC pleadings in NanoString-Harvard patent revocation case

( January 3, 2025, 15:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Unified Patent Court has granted IP law firm Berggren Oy access to the written pleadings and evidence from the concluded revocation action between NanoString Technologies Europe Limited and the President and Fellows of Harvard College. The Finnish law firm is not a party to the original proceedings. The public interest in transparency outweighed any potential confidentiality concerns, the UPC Munich Central Division ruled. “The parties have not put forward any facts or arguments which would shift the balance of interests in favor of withholding or restricting access in the present case,” the document said. The case involved a revocation action concerning EP 2,794,928, owned by the Harvard Corporation. The revocation action was concluded on Oct. 17, 2024 with a final decision in favor of NanoString.See court document attached....
