( December 23, 2024, 14:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Panasonic and OPPO have withdrawn their claims and counterclaims in three patent infringement actions at the Unified Patent Court, as confirmed by procedural order issued by the Munich Local Division. The dispute — involving EP 2,197,132, EP 3,024,163 and EP 2,584,854 — were officially terminated after the parties reached a settlement during the written-proceedings phase. The patents are considered essential for 3G and 4G connectivity. Both companies agreed to bear their own legal costs, and received a 40 percent reimbursement of court fees under the UPC’s Rules of Procedure. The settlement led to the cancellation of a series of interim hearings initially scheduled for January 2025.See court document in German attached....
