Google bid for judgment in US adtech suit opposed by states

( December 30, 2024, 20:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google's bid for judgment against federal antitrust claims brought by a Texas-led multistate coalition over digital advertising technology markets should be denied, the states said in a reply to the company's motion for summary judgment filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. "Many of Google’s legal arguments were already rejected either at the motion to dismiss stage in this case or at summary judgment in the parallel proceeding in the Eastern District of Virginia," according to the states. Google's remaining arguments address "fact-bound" issues — such as the company's likelihood of monopolizing the market for ad buying tools for larger advertisers — that are "readily supported by the record," the states said.See attached document....
