Contact Energy's bid to acquire Manawa sparks antitrust concerns in New Zealand

In a media release today, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said it would be issuing a statement of issues outlining and seeking feedback on potential competition concerns arising from the proposed acquisition following the regulator’s initial probe. Both Manawa, formerly known as Trustpower, and Contact are generators and wholesalers of electricity in New Zealand.
