LAMA’s confidentiality request approved, stay denied by UPC in HPDC dispute

( December 19, 2024, 15:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: LAMA France’s requests for confidentiality measures which would protect its confidential business information, including invoices and accounting records, have been granted by the Unified Patent Court in a dispute with Hewlett-Packard Development Company LP, concerning EP 2,089,230 and EP 1,737,669 related to printing technology. The Paris Local Division rejected LAMA’s request to stay the execution of the Nov. 13 decision, where the court found one of HPDC’s patents had been infringed. In connection with that patent, LAMA was ordered to provide information needed to calculate damages. Also today, the UPC rejected LAMA’s alternative request for a 2 million-euro guarantee in case HPDC failed to protect the sensitive information it must share to comply with the Paris Local Division's order.See court document in French attached....
