Belkin charged penalty for delaying information in UPC dispute with Philips

( December 19, 2024, 09:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Electronics company Belkin is due to pay a penalty of 46,000 euros for non-compliance with a Unified Patent Court order to provide information in a dispute with Koninklijke Philips, concerning EP 2,867,997-B1. The UPC Munich Local Division imposed the fine yesterday, after Belkin failed to deliver requested data about the production and distribution of allegedly infringing products. The case stems from Philips’ allegations that Belkin infringed its patent, which covers a technology used in wireless charging or smart connectivity. The court emphasized that Belkin’s non-cooperation undermines the enforcement process, particularly in preliminary injunction contexts where information is required in a timely manner.See court document in German attached....
