Japanese subsidiary of Nippon Light Metal raided for suspected antitrust violation

The inspection is understood to be linked to an ongoing cartel investigation involving four other truck-body manufacturers. In a market disclosure, Nippon Light Metal said the JFTC was investigating a potential violation of the Antimonopoly Act related to price-setting practices. Van-body manufacturer Nippon Fruehauf, a subsidiary of Nippon Light Metal, was raided on Wednesday by the Japan Fair Trade Commission, or JFTC, over a suspected antitrust violation.
