In cross-border patent inventorship fight, UKIPO will defer to High Court

In “declining to deal” with claims by the University of Southampton that Windracers Ltd had wrongly listed two inventors of a UK patent and in related applications filed in the EU and US, the UKIPO said the complexity of the case — including potential copyright and trade secret claims by Windracers — favors resolution by the court.The UK Intellectual Property Office won’t, for now, weigh in on a bid for correction of inventorship filed by the University of Southampton and Professor James Scanlan....
