Zoom loses EU trademark protection for hardware as US case suspended

The decision relied on evidence that Zoom’s trademark usage was limited to software-based services, which are not covered under the class of goods claimed by Zoom. In the US, the parties have paused a similar trademark revocation request, with proceedings to potentially resume in February.Zoom Video Communications has lost its EU trademark protection for hardware goods, following a Japanese company’s move to revoke it.
