Google, Meta, TikTok to pay for news content under revamped Australian rules

In a joint statement, Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones and Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said the Australian government would create a new tax offset mechanism to encourage the tech giants to come to the bargaining table.
