Catholic Church’s appeal against baptismal erasure order lands at top EU court

By Matthew Newman ( December 11, 2024, 17:14 GMT | Insight) -- The EU’s highest court has been asked whether the right to erasure in the EU’s data protection law applies when a person seeks to have a baptismal record deleted by the Catholic Church in Belgium. The case is closely watched because of a rise in "debaptism" requests in Belgium.
