Realtek, Broadcom RAND row remanded to Delaware Court of Chancery*

By Melissa Ritti ( December 11, 2024, 16:22 GMT | Insight) -- In a sealed decision issued this morning, a US federal judge in Delaware sent a lawsuit which poses the question of whether Realtek possesses a reasonable and nondiscriminatory, or RAND, license to various Broadcom Inc. standard-essential patents back to the Delaware Court of Chancery, where it was filed by Realtek last month. An order issued minutes later clarified that all other pending motions — including Realtek’s alternative request to schedule antisuit injunction proceedings and a request for alternative service against Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. — are denied.Broadcom Inc. and two affiliates have lost their bid to have a lawsuit by Realtek proceed in US federal court....
