Bedoya, Slaughter ask Trump FTC chair nominee Ferguson to clarify competition priorities

( December 11, 2024, 03:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Democratic Federal Trade Commissioners wrote an open letter to Republican commissioner Andrew Ferguson who was today nominated to be the next chair of the FTC by President-elect Donald Trump, asking for a clarification of his priorities. Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Kelly Slaughter said a one-page document published in the media about Ferguson's priorities and whose author is unknown raises questions because of "what is not in it." "The document does propose allowing more mergers, firing civil servants, and fighting something called the 'the trans agenda.'
