US monthly trade deficit decreased by 11.9 percent in October 2024

( December 5, 2024, 14:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US monthly international trade deficit decreased in October by 11.9 percent from September's revised amount of $83.8 billion, with a 1.6 percent decrease in exports and a 4.0 percent decrease in imports, according to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis and the US Census Bureau. The goods deficit decreased by $10.4 billion to $98.7 billion, and the services surplus decreased by $0.4 billion to $24.8 billion, the BEA said. The goods and services deficit increased by $80.7 billion, or 12.3 percent, since October 2023, according to the BEA. Exports increased by 3.7 percent and imports increased by 5.4 percent since September 2023.Statement follows below. See attached files....
