Mastercard-targeted UK mass suit settlement opposed by funder, claimant lawyer says

( December 4, 2024, 17:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A settlement between Mastercard and Walter Merricks to end a UK mass claim over card-fee losses incurred by consumers is subject to "unfortunate but not surprising" opposition by the claimant's funder Innsworth Capital, the claimant's lawyer has said in a statement. The lawyer also said that any suggestion the settlement has been rushed is "frankly absurd." In the statement, the lawyer said Merricks is confident that the Competition Appeal Tribunal will approve the settlement.Statement follows....
