Aviation giant IndiGo sues EV maker Mahindra in Indian trademark dispute

By Freny Patel ( December 4, 2024, 06:49 GMT | Insight) -- IndiGo, India's leading budget airline, has initiated legal action against domestic car manufacturer Mahindra Electric Automobile, in a trademark dispute. The legal battle centers around the use of "6E" in Mahindra's upcoming electric car, the "BE 6e." InterGlobe Aviation argued that the unauthorized use of the "6E" mark constitutes an infringement of its budget airline's rights, reputation, and goodwill, and could lead to consumer confusion and brand dilution.
