Copper producer KME secures German nod for Sundwiger Messingwerk deal

( December 3, 2024, 10:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German copper manufacturer KME has won approval from the national competition authority to buy Sundwiger Messingwerk. The Bundeskartellamt said that in spite of the deal boosting KME's position — especially in relation to rolled bronze products — it couldn't justify blocking the deal, as the change in the KME's market position as a result of the concentration is too minor. The watchdog said it would keep a ''very close eye on how the market will develop," according to antitrust head Andreas Mundt. Both KME and Sundwiger Messingwerk produce semi-finished copper and copper alloy products.Statement follows. ...
