China firmly opposes US semiconductor export controls measures, Mofcom says

A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that the measures further tighten export controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, memory chips, and others to China, which severely disrupt global trade, undermine market rules, and threaten supply chain stability. The Ministry also described the measures as economic coercion and non-market practices because they extend "long-arm jurisdiction" in China and interfere with China's trade with third countries.
