In joint letter to US magistrate judge, New York Times, OpenAI lay disagreements bare

( November 26, 2024, 10:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: In an updated joint letter, the New York Times tells a US magistrate judge that it has been unable to reach an agreement with Microsoft and OpenAI on a variety of issues relating to discovery, including the newspaper's repeated request for identification of its works that were used to train the large language model.  OpenAI responds that it has been served with "almost 500 million requests for admission" for which the New York Times "neither filed a motion to compel . . . nor even asked to meet and confer."See attached file....
