Google should be made to sell advertising-technology tools, Canadian Competition Bureau says

( November 28, 2024, 23:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Canadian Competition Bureau's antitrust complaint against Google seeks an order from the Competition Tribunal that requires Google to sell two of its advertising technology tools: its publisher ad server, DFP, and its ad exchange, AdX. In a detailed backgrounder published on its website, the Bureau also seeks an order that directs Google to pay an administrative monetary penalty equal to three times the value of the benefit derived from Google’s anti-competitive practices, or if that amount cannot be reasonably determined, 3 percent of Google’s worldwide gross revenues. It also seeks a prohibition on Google from continuing to engage in anticompetitive conduct and practices.
