Google’s win over AdSense antitrust fine draws EU Commission appeal

By Lewis Crofts ( November 28, 2024, 15:40 GMT | Insight) -- Google will face further litigation over its search-advertising business with the European Commission set to appeal against a September court ruling that annulled a 1.49 billion euro fine, MLex has learned. The regulator has seen two of its other fines against Google upheld, but the third case, which relates to its AdSense advertising business, suffered a defeat when judges faulted the analysis of contract clauses. An appeal will be submitted to the EU's Court of Justice.  The European Commission will seek to overturn a court defeat against Google from Sept. 18, where the search-advertising company won the annulment of a 1.49 billion euro ($1.57 billion) fine, MLex has learned....
