Canadian Hockey League wins dismissal of US antitrust case

( November 26, 2024, 18:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Canadian Hockey League was granted a motion to dismiss US antitrust claims accusing it of conspiring with the National Hockey League, due to lack of jurisdiction. District Judge Margaret M. Garnett determined that the named plaintiffs — who are not from New York and didn't play hockey in New York — didn't experience injury in the state, and the claims of the named plaintiffs don't “arise from” the CHL’s transaction of business there.
