Google tests removing specialized results in response to EU’s DMA

( November 26, 2024, 06:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has said it will strip certain search results of comparison features, as it seeks a solution that will satisfy EU officials enforcing a legal ban on self-preferencing in search results. The company said in a blog post that it will temporarily drop several features in Germany, Belgium and Estonia in response to search queries for hotels, including "the map that shows where hotels are and hotel results underneath it." Google also outlined a broader proposal made in recent months to overhaul its compliance with the provision in the Digital Markets Act.The blog post follows....
